This stage of the Emilleden trail offers a wonderful blend of cultural history and Småland’s natural beauty. We recommend starting at the Mariannelund & Hässleby Local History Museum, beautifully situated on an oak-covered hill. Here you’ll find several historic buildings, including Funghultsboden from the 17th century and Tutestugan from the 18th century.
Along the way, you’ll pass Hässleby Church, an impressive 19th-century church, and the old wolf pit at Hult, which tells the story of how wolves were hunted in days gone by. At Gummarp, you’ll find the remains of a charcoal burner’s hut, where the charcoal burner once lived while tending the charcoal kiln.
At Linden and the swimming area in Ingelstorp, you’ll find a great spot to stop. Linden is the largest lake in the Lönneberga parish and is surrounded by pristine nature. The swimming area features docks, changing rooms, and restrooms—perfect for a break or a dip.
The hike continues along the Lillån River, a Natura 2000 site that is home to, among other things, a local trout population and the protected freshwater pearl mussel. This is a section where Småland’s history, nature, and aquatic environments come together beautifully.
