Description

This stage offers fascinating cultural history and stories about people and places that have left their mark on the region. At the local heritage farm, beautifully situated on an oak-covered hill, you can see several historic buildings and the famous stone-cutting machine “Röja lätt.”

Along the way, you’ll pass Lönneberga Church, whose history dates back to the 14th century, and continue on to Albert Engström’s birthplace in Bäckfall. You’ll also come to the birthplace of Carl Oscar Hedström, the man who later developed the well-known Indian motorcycle in the U.S.

At Katebo, there is an old sacrificial spring with an intriguing legend about young people who gathered here on Midsummer’s Eve to drink, make offerings, and make wishes. There is also a so-called “vädur,” an old water pump that supplied water to the farms in the village.

The stage ends at Ulfwedal’s mill, a beautiful and well-preserved mill setting with a pond and a place to sit down for a break. A hike where local history, personal stories, and beautiful cultural landscapes accompany you every step of the way.
