Description

The Möckelsnäs trail takes you to the outermost part of the peninsula – through the Kronan and Möckelsnäs nature reserves – where the freshwater archipelago embraces the peninsula from three directions. Large parts of the beach forest grow on old lake beds after the lake's water level was lowered by more than a meter in the 19th century.

Let yourself be enveloped by the magic of the deciduous trees, where the magnificent crowns of the hardwoods act as a canopy and the light from the lake creates a wonderful atmosphere 30 meters above the waterline. Don't miss the unique flora of ferns, mosses, and rare lichens associated with hardwood forests. Old, hollow trees with decaying wood in various stages of decomposition create beautiful environments for outdoor recreation.

Beautiful Sikareveln

Don't miss beautiful Sikareveln on northwestern Möckelsnäs, which stretches straight out into Lake Möckeln and has a fantastic shoreline on both sides. You will find sandy beaches on both the north and south sides of the reef and a nearly 360-degree beach experience at the tip of the cape.

Mökkelsnäs also offers accommodation, a café, parking, and art exhibitions in a beautiful manor house setting.

The Möckelsnässlingan trail is part of the Östra Möckeln hiking trail.
