Description

This 12 km hike takes you through varied forest landscapes with

magnificent views and distinct seasons. Along the trail you pass Mattarp beech forest, nature's own pillar hall.

At Vikskvarn you step into a bygone mill era. Of the old

Vikskvarn only the ruins remain. The river flows through the ruins and has exposed the geologically interesting Almesåkra formation, a 700-800 million year old sedimentary rock series, which has made the mill ruins a classic study site for bedrock geology.

At Vikskvarn you can admire the geological formations and take a break at the rest areas. There is also a small overnight cabin, barbecue area and a dry toilet.

The route is relatively easy to walk, but has some more significant climbs closer to Vikskvarn where the stages HÖ14 Forsa - Vikskvarn, HÖ18 Vikskvarn - Tomtabacken and HÖ15 Vikskvarn - Lövhult meet.

Enjoy the scenic walk and the historical sights along the way.
