Description

Agnäs nature reserve is located on a headland that extends out into Lake Åsnen, southeast of Torne Bridge along the eastern part of Julöfjorden. The reserve mainly comprises deciduous forest, but also water areas and small islands in Lake Åsnen. The forest at Agnäs is a remnant of the large broadleaf forest that once enclosed the whole of Åsnen. The reserve here is managed by the Kronoberg County Administrative Board.

The reserve is located on the road between Vrankunge and Urshult, which is reached from the north from road 23. About 14 km west of Växjö you take south towards Odensjö. Signs from the reserve can be found from the road just under a kilometer after passing Vrankunge.

Regulations

You are welcome to visit the nature reserve, but please note that it is not allowed to:

destroy or damage solid natural objects or surface formations, for example by drilling, painting, chiseling or otherwise damaging rocks, boulders, living natural objects or lying and standing dead trees
drive a motorized vehicle other than to a designated parking space or drive a hydrocopter, hovercraft or similar motorized craft (motorboats may be driven)
set up a caravan or other trailer
moor or anchor a houseboat
ride other than on the road indicated on the map, (see pdf under more information)
bring an unleashed dog or other loose pet
disturbing wildlife, for example by being too close to a bird's nest, pot or similar
setting fires
digging up, picking or breaking bushes, rice, herbs, mushrooms, mosses and lichens, with the exception of picking berries and mushrooms for domestic use
collect insects, snails or other animals and their eggs, pupae or similar (fishing with a valid fishing license is permitted)
organize marked trails or similar
put up a board, sign, inscription, poster or similar device
camping
within the land or water area take off or land with an aircraft
