Welcome to the Värnaro outdoor recreation area!

Here you can walk, run, cycle, and ride horses on approximately 20 km of trails divided into different loops. The loops offer beautiful and varied landscapes that include Lake Sörsjön, the Stomsjö wetland, old cultural landscapes, a pine-covered raised bog, hardwood forest, enchanting spruce forest, and open agricultural landscapes with views of Lake Vidöstern. Along the loops, there are many opportunities to sit down and rest on benches and sun loungers. There are several wind shelters with exciting designs, barbecue areas, and three separate bathing areas for people, dogs, and horses. Don't forget to look for birds at Stomsjö Wetland in the western part of the area.

Some tips for nice trails in Värnaro:

Stomsjörundan: 2 km. Experience Stomsjö Wetland with its rich bird life. Along the trail, you will have several beautiful views of the wetland, and you are welcome to use the Fågelro wind shelter at Stomsjö Farm to watch for birds. Part of the trail follows the Smålandsleden trail, which connects the outdoor recreation area with Kärda and Store Mosse National Park, among other places. The entire route is accessible.

Allotment garden route: 2.8 km. Here you pass through the Sörsjö allotment area with all its pretty little houses and gardens. The route mostly goes through coniferous forest with some deciduous forest, and you have beautiful views of Lake Sörsjön. Along the route, you will find the Björkfriden wind shelter, and next to Entré Sörsjön there is a rest area with a swimming area, sun loungers, tables, and a barbecue area. The entire route is accessible.

Sörsjörundan: 3.2 km. Take a lap around Lake Sörsjön and enjoy views of the water from all angles. The trail runs close to the lake in several places and there are three wind shelters, two rest areas with barbecue facilities, a bathing area, and a dog bathing area along the trail. You will pass two of the outdoor recreation area's entrances, and some sections of the trail run along the Smålandsleden trail. On this trail, you may encounter the beautiful horses that belong to the Värnamobygdens Ryttarförening riding club. The entire route is accessible, but there is one hill along the route that can be a little steep.
